Facts about our partially wheelchair accessible homes
Exterior
- There is one, concrete ramp in front of the home leading from the driveway to the front door. There are no handrails.
- The doors are all 36" wide.
- The door leading from the garage into the home does not have a ramp. There is a 3⁄4" threshold at the entry.
- The door leading from the home to the back door does not have a ramp. There is a 11⁄2" threshold at the entry.
- The garage light switches and outlets are standard height.
- Check the height of your vehicle to ensure it will fit in the garage. Sizes of garages may vary.
- Rising View is not responsible to supply/add additional ramps.
Interior
- The doors are all 36" wide.
- The door handles are knobs, not levers (resident can request levers).
- The carpet is low pile, commercial grade carpet, with a 1⁄4" padding underneath.
- The light switches and outlets are wheelchair accessible.
- There are standard fire detectors and CO2 detectors in each home (resident can request strobe light fire detectors).
Kitchen
- The kitchen countertops are 37" high.
- The kitchen sink/faucets are not wheelchair accessible.
- The stove knobs are in the back and not in the front therefore not wheelchair accessible.
- The microwave is not wheelchair accessible.
Guest Bathroom
- The bathroom shower is a walk-in shower (transfer shower) and not a roll-in shower. See below for dimensions. There is one grab bar and one fold up seat in the shower. Sizes of shower may vary.
- The medicine cabinet is lowered.
- The toilet is higher than a standard toilet.
- There are permanent grab bars around the toilet.
- There is a vanity under the bathroom sink. It is not wheelchair accessible.
Master Bathroom
- The master bathroom is not wheelchair accessible.
- The tub/shower combo is not a walk-in (transfer shower) or roll-in shower. Sizes of the showers may vary.
Bedrooms
- The closet rods are standard height.
